The Three Valleys – Courchevel, Meribel and Val Thorens – is the largest ski area in Europe and one of the largest in the world. Within these three valleys there are a number of different villages – each one famous in its own name and also with it’s own style. From the glitzy Courchevel 1850 to the party town of Meribel and the family resort of La Tania – the Three Valleys has it all.
The ski domain is the highest in Europe as more than 85% of the pistes are above 1800m altitude. The resort height varies from 600m (Brides Les Bain) up to 3230m (Val Thorens) and La Tania is in the middle at 1400m. There are 163 lifts and a variety of pistes to suit all levels making it an ideal ski destination, regardless how you like to ski. Snow cover is protected – firstly by the altitude and secondly by 2300 snow canons.
Facts and Figures for the Three Valleys
The Three Valleys domain covers the resorts of Courchevel, La Tania, Meribel, Brides les Bains, St Martin de Belleville, Les Menuires and Val Thorens. 600km of pistes link these villages together which is how it achieves it’s worldwide status.
The Three Valleys resorts also open during the summer and cater for a wide variety of activities. An alpine holiday is not just about skiing – the Three Valleys has a wide range of leisure facilities for non-skiers as well.
La Tania is one of the villages in the Courchevel Valley. The resort height is 1400m and it’s served by a gondola lift. At the top of the gondola you can choose from one of two high speed chair lifts – one into the Courchevel valley and the other into the Meribel valley. La Tania is therefore an ideal location to explore the whole Three Valleys area. It is a very popular destination for skies from all over Europe. Unlike most other purpose built resorts, La Tania has a large number of chalets which means it is more visually attractive than other places.
We are offering a unique opportunity to acquire a 28 bed chalet in La Tania. The chalet is configured for rental and is ideal as a catered chalet or guest-house.
