The Three Valleys – Courchevel, Meribel and Val Thorens – is the largest ski area in Europe and one of the largest in the world. Within these three valleys there are a number of different villages – each one famous in its own name. From the glitzy Courchevel 1850 to the party town of Meribel and the family resort of La Tania – the Three Valleys has it all.
The ski domain is the highest in Europe as more than 85% of the pistes are above 1800m altitude. The resort height varies from 600m up (Brides Les Bain) to 3230m (Val Thorens). There are 163 lifts and a variety of pistes to suit all levels. Snow cover is protected – firstly by the altitude and secondly by 2300 snow canons.
The Three Valleys resorts also open during the summer and cater for a wide variety of activities. In addition, an alpine holiday is not just about skiing – the Three Valleys has a wide range of leisure facilities for non-skiers.
La Tania is one of the villages in the Courchevel Valley. It has a resort height of 1400m and is served by a gondola lift. At the top of the gondola you can choose from one of two high speed chair lifts – one into the Courchevel valley and the other into the Meribel valley. La Tania is therefore an ideal location to explore the whole Three Valleys area.
